Learn to Return

Emcee Project Portfolio

How one PDF became a suite of communications materials.

In early 2021, Health Commons Project had just launched a DOH-funded program to bring COVID-19 testing to all public and private schools in Washington. They had a playbook – a dense, 60+ page PDF – but needed a better way to engage the thousands of school admins, teachers, nurses, and student families they were serving.

We helped them build their brand, a website that served different audiences, and a newsletter with high engagement from those on the “frontlines.”

The website and the newsletter became the go-to resources for health policy information, toolkits, breaking news, partner stories, and more.

Twice monthly newsletter for 2k readers.

The Learn to Return newsletter featured breakdowns of evolving public policy, spotlights on school partners, and easy-to-use toolkits for onboarding a testing program.

Celebrating partner impact.

We launched a Spotlight series to share partners’ stories with the community, including state and county agencies. Our team met and inerviewed each partner, developed their story, worked with them on the final edit, and designed fun illustrated headshots for each Spotlight.

Custom video for non-English speakers

The Learn to Return team needed help translating COVID-19 testing instructions for their diverse populations. The primary rapid antigen test being used at the time only had English instructions. We worked with small video production company to write and produce a “language-agnostic” instructional video that anyone can understand regardless of their primary language.
